Recipes are out for the AHA Big Brew which will be May 1st this year. There is an American Wheat, a Scottish 80 Shilling, and an all-Munich-malt Oktoberfest.

Details: http://wiki.homebrewersassociation.org/BigBrew2010

About the Big Brew (from the AHA website): "Each year on the first Saturday in May, homebrewers unite non-brewing and brewing friends and family to celebrate National Homebrew Day, joining with thousands of homebrewers from around the world in brewing the same recipes and sharing a simultaneous toast at noon Central Time."

I've offered to farm out some Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale yeast to anyone who wants some. It's currently fermenting very nicely at 65F in an Irish Red recipe, so I expect it will come out pretty clean, just in time to build up for the Big Brew. I can bring some to the April meeting.

Here's more information:

Alright folks. Here are some details.

We'll be starting at 9 a.m. at John Mills' house. Address is 2303 Mt. Auburn Rd, across the street from the Zoo.

As always, the club will supply ingredients to brew the published Big Brew recipes and the Big Turkey winner with the understanding that those beers will be saved to be served at our summer festivals, Zoo Brew, SWIRCA, etc.

We won't have enough for all to get free ingredients, so please bring some along for a batch.

Invite everyone you know to stop on by. This is a great event to see how different people brew differently, from extract to all-grain. One pot/one burners up to full systems with pumps, etc.

I believe some grilling will be done for lunch. Details to be worked out at the meeting.

John,

I have the 20' x 10' tent if you would like me to bring this to the meeting. I will not be able to make the brew day unfortunately, so I can bring it to our club meeting Wed.

That would be great Chris. We might be in for some wet weather. I've go a 2 car garage, and 5 foot eves overhangs all around my house we could utilize also if needed.

Something has come up and unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year.
This will be the first year since I joined that I won't be present......kinda sucks.

You'll be missed.
