Haynie's Corner Grain Orders

Post by BREWsmith » Tue Aug 30, 2016 8:56 am

I will be ordering grains sometime this week, probably Friday. I order through BSG Craftbrewing. They carry Rahr, Gambrinus, Weyermann, Simpsons, Crisp and others. For US base malts, Rahr is comparable to Cargill both in style and price. Let me know by end of business Thursday if you'd like to place an order.

Below are some of Rahr's prices including shipping of approximately $5 per bag:

2-Row $33.00
Pale $35.50
White wheat $36.00
Pilsner $35.50

Obviously, you'll pay a bit more for the imported malts. Personally, I use Weyermann for several of my malts including pilsner, rye, and munich. You can follow the link for all of BSG's grains.

With shipping, it would be $44 for a 25 kg (55lbs) bag.

Might as well stock up for the upcoming brew year! Also, I just noticed you said the Rahr pricing included shipping.

Put me down for a bag of Rahr 2-Row and Castle Château Pilsen 2RS (https://bsgcraftbrewing.com/chateau-pilsen-2rs-25kg)

Thanks Jeff!

I edited my post to make sure everyone knew that the prices I quoted do include shipping cost. For example, my cost for Rahr 2R is 56 cents per pound or $28.00 for a 50 lb bag. My shipping costs work out to be about $5 per bag. So, the total cost is $33.00.

Don,

We're open Thursday and Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. If you'd like, I can bring them with me to work.
