Barrel Beer Project: Saturday, March 28, 2015

Post by msjulian » Wed Feb 18, 2015 6:24 pm

Would you be interested in participating in barrel beer group brew? We are looking for brewers to brew enough beer to fill a bourbon barrel. The barrel brew will go down again at Carson's March 28th. If you made it out last year you know how much fun it was. If you didn't make it, you missed a really good time!

All ingredients will be provided. If you are interested, please indicate how much beer you could brew.

Rachel and I can be there and do 5 gallons.

How does this work? Do you provide the recipe before hand so that we can punch it in to work with our own equipment?

Everyone will be brewing the same recipe, we will provide the ingredients. You can punch in the recipe and adjust for your system before hand and the day of the brew we will have bags of grain and a scale for you to measure out what you need.

Where can I obtain a copy of the recipe so I can fiddle with it in beersmith?

I am planning on brewing 10 gallons.

If you are planning on brewing please indicate how many gallons. Last year we ended up with enough to do a barrel aged batch and a non-barrel aged batch. I am not sure if we will be doing both again this year.

Count us in for the barrel brew. We will do at least 5 gallons. We can do 10 if needed. Our group is Ryan Cox, Jason Stoermer, Rusty Nulton and Chad Englert

I'm counting 50-55 gallons, I believe the goal was 60-65 gallons. Its not too late to sign up! If we brew too much we can always put some in carboys!
